Characteristics of Excellent Worksheets





Previously we discuss about the importance of worksheets in the language classroom now we will see some characteristics for the creation of excellent worksheets.


As we know, worksheets are excellent tools that will help teachers in the laguage classrooms and as we also know, they can be created by teachers themselves so for our worksheets to be excellent we have to to follow some steps.

First of all worksheets should be well organized and neat. This means they should include specific and clear intructions in that way students will not get confused and they will be able to solve the worksheet independetly. Also worksheets must have a session where they will write main information such as their name and date. As well an example of how will be the practice should be provided


 Another characteristic of excellent worksheets is that they should be visually appealing or attractive to the eyes of the students. If the worksheets have a lack of colors and images they might become boring and students will lose attention, so for that is essential the use of colors, ilustrations, or graphics. Also if there is something that is really important we can underline or highlight to make emphasis.
Lastly, worksheets should be adecuted to the level of the learners. We have to keep attention to the grade of the students when designig a worksheet because they shouldn't be too easy instead they should be a little bit challenging to increase and practice their knowledge but that doesn't mean they will be totally difficult because this is not the purpose of a worksheet and students will lose the interest of using worksheets in future classes.

All of these characteristics that we have mentioned are important at the moment of selectiong or creating this kind of material so if our purpose is to make a good use of these tools in a language class we better keep all these characteristics in mind.

    Hi Angie, I like your blog about worksheet, I am agree with you of how you use an excellent tools that will helps teacher and students in the classroom because is the best manner to design a wide section to make worksheets in future classes and to give the students to show your knowledge of learning that increase the purpose on his/her language. All of this characteristics is very important to know about the students of the second language acquisition.

    Worksheets are essential for reinforcing learner's knowledge of a topic, and the importance of having good ones is huge. It's crucial for students to have worksheets with clear instructions in order to guide them to develope it in a good way. Also, it's important to make worksheets appealing but not distracting for the student. Thanks for sharing that information ✨

    That sounds like a great idea to me! worksheets far from being just documents, are good teaching methods which are adecuted to the level of the learners, in that way teachers can increasing and practicing
    students knowledge.
